Jimi Hendrix – Here My Train A Comin

This is a documentary about one of the greatest guitarists from the 70’s.

Too bad Jimi went to England to prove to everyone that he had what it takes. The British loved his music, he came back to the USA and was a huge hit.

His music was dubbed acid rock.

When I was a teenager in the 70’s a couple of my buddies would play Purple Haze and Foxy Lady on their instruments down in their basement.

Excellent documentary.

I remember buying this one at the record shop in town and was blown away once again how awesome Sabbath sounds. Let me know if anyone out there has one their own favourite songs.

Deep Purple – In Rock

DeepPurple

This album was released in 1970 …. heavy sound for the time.

Who would believe an organ could sound so mean played by Jon Lord. Killer vocals by Ian Gillan, deadly bass by Roger Glover, crazy drums by Ian Paice and awesome guitar by Ritchie Blackmore. Go to you tube and take a look at how Jon rocks that organ.

Ian Gillan was the original Jesus Christ off the Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar, his vocals made that album and a lot of kids back then bought Jesus Christ Superstar.

My top three songs for In Rock are Speed King, Child in Time and Into the Fire. Other songs on the album are Bloodsucker, Flight of the Rat, Living Wreck and Hard Lovin’ Man.
